Annual Awards Nomination

You are invited to help recognize a Brighton Chamber member (individual, company or organization) who has made a significant contribution to the Brighton community.

All Nominations must be submitted to the Chamber by March 15, 2024. Nominee must be a current member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce. Winners will be selected by the Annual Awards Committee. Awards will be presented at our Awards Luncheon.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD - This award recognizes an individual involved in a non-profit organization and/or to an organization that has served the Brighton community. 

(Recent winners - 2014 - Brighton High School Habitat for Humanity Club and McQuaid Jesuit High School Habitat Chapter, 2015 - Jewish Senior Life, 2016 - Temple B'rith Kodesh, 2017 - Brighton High School Friends of Rachel Club, 2018 - Hillel Community Day School, 2019 - Brighton Central School District Diversity & Equity Committee)

BUILDING PRIDE IN BRIGHTON AWARD - This award, established in 1993, provides public recognition to a business that has improved the quality of life in Brighton through property enhancements or outstanding achievements.

(Recent winners - 2014 - The Charbroil Family Restaurant, 2015 - The Reserve on the Erie Canal, 2016 - The Men's Room Barber Lounge & Spa, 2017 - JCC of Rochester, 2018 - Brighton Securities, 2019 - Brighton Volunteer Ambulance)

GREEN BRIGHTON BUSINESS AWARD - This award, established in 2007, recognizes an outstanding commitment by a business or organization to environmental sustainability through leadership and actions that influence green practices or successfully implemented green programs, procedures or improvements in their business operations or facility that have led to reductions in energy use and/or greenhouse gas emissions. 

(Recent winners - 2014 - The Harley School, 2015 - Rustic Village Apartments, 2016 - Premium Mortgage, 2017 -  SUNY Empire State College, 2018 - Brighton Central School District, 2019 - Broccolo Tree and Lawn Care)

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR - This award, established in 2014, recognizes an entrepreneur in the Brighton Chamber for outstanding achievement in running a business, contributing to the community and local economy. The candidate's company must be a Brighton Chamber member based in, founded in or with a significant presence in Brighton.

Other Factors to consider for Entrepreneur of the Year:

  • Entrepreneur must be the founder of the business.
  • Business’ origin should include vision, risk and creativity.
  • Contributions to the community through charitable or leadership roles.
  • Company demonstrates innovative employee programs and corporate culture.

MEMORIAL AWARD - The Memorial Award is given in memory of those citizens whose devotion to work and civic duty have improved the quality of life in our community.
